Deleting a meter

Deleting a meter removes all existing interval data, and it is a permanent and irreversible action.

About this task

In most cases, if a meter contains data, you should close a meter rather than delete it, because closing a meter preserves the existing meter data for audit purposes.

1. In the Meters grid, select the meters that you want to delete, and then click Actions > Delete Meter(s).
2. In the Confirmation window, before deleting the meter, confirm acceptance that all interval data and links to other objects will be permanently deleted.
