Setting issue preferences

You can configure which type of users are notified about issues and you can customize the message that is displayed in the issue about replying to the email. You can also configure whether dates from data capture issues are prefilled into new records.

About this task

Notification settings enable you to select whether issue assignees and reporters are notified by email of the following updates:

  • New issues
  • Changes to details, which include changes to summary, description, and dates
  • Status changes
  • Comments
  • Attachments
  • Assignee changes

Email notifications are not sent to the user that makes the update, even if the user is the assignee or the reporter. Bulk updates of issues that are made by Business Partners through the Setup Issues template also do not trigger notifications.

Under general issue settings, you can configure the start and end period in a new record to be prefilled with the requested dates from a data capture issue. It is useful to enable this setting where a single record is likely to be created for the entire period of the data capture request.

Procedure

  1. From the main menu, click Admin > Issue Settings.
  2. Select whether to notify the assignee, reporter, both, or not to send a notification when an issue is created or updated.
  3. Optional: Add a custom message to the notification about replying to the email.
    The standard message in the notification email is Please do not reply to this email. To get in touch, please contact support.
  4. Select whether to use the dates in a data capture issue to prefill the start and end period on the Capture Data form.
  5. Click Save.
