Pathways to load data in bulk

IBM® Envizi ESG Suite supports several pathways for data loading into accounts and meters.

The pathways include:
  • A self-service pathway that uses universal data loading templates to load account and meter data in bulk. You must format your data to match the relevant template, and then upload the file from the Upload Files page or by using Data Flow Automation.

Self-service pathway for accounts

The following universal account data loading templates are included with your subscription:
  • Universal Account Setup and Data Load
  • Universal Account Setup and Data Load - PM&C
  • Flat File Format

Self-service pathway for meters

The following universal meter connector data loading templates are available if you purchase the Interval Metering Analytics module:
  • Universal Accumulative Reading Meter Data Load
  • Universal Interval Consumption Meter Data Load
For more information about the universal meter connector specifications, see Interval Metering Analytics reference. Envizi ESG Suite also supports a few regional formats such as NEM12 (Australia) for electricity, gas, and water, and Stark (UK) for electricity.
Note: Envizi ESG Suite does not integrate directly to site-based SCADA or BMS/EMS at the protocol layer, and it does not offer edge devices or middleware. Sending CSV data to Envizi ESG Suite is the responsibility of a client or partner.

If you can upload CSV files that contain trending interval data from meters through S3, SFTP, or email, then Envizi ESG Suite can ingest the data. Some services might be needed to transpose the file format to align with the Envizi ESG Suite universal meter data loading templates.

Services-supported pathways

Services-supported pathways for data loading include the following options:
Using a connector subscription for file-based data transfer
You purchase a Connector AddOn subscription and engage IBM Expert Labs to design and develop the connector for an external system to load files for transformation, for example, in XLSX or CSV format.
Using a custom API integration to retrieve external data and a connector subscription to transform the data
You purchase a custom API integration through IBM Expert Labs. The scope of work covers the design and development of the API service to retrieve data from the external source. This solution also requires a connector subscription to transform the retrieved data from the API into one of the universal templates for data loading in Envizi ESG Suite.
Develop your own transformation services with your own tool sets
You can work with a Business Partner to develop your own transformation services independently by using your own tool sets. Then, you can upload the transformed account and meter data into the platform by using the Envizi ESG Suite universal formats.
