Configuring data loading into meters

Set up meters and configure data flow automation to enable data loading into meters in IBM® Envizi ESG Suite.

1. Create the meters in Envizi ESG Suite.
   1. Select the serial number based on the meter data and the meter component design document.
      Each meter requires a unique serial number. The meter component determines the expected data format. Refer to existing meters in your Envizi ESG Suite instance or contact IBM Support.

2. Configure data flow automation by using one of the following options:

   Universal data loading templates

   A service is required that is based on data upload by either the destination client or a meter data agent. For more information, see Data file loading.

   Create a data transformation

   A service is required and also a pipeline to process data through a custom connector. For more information, see Data file transformation and loading.

   Data received through a custom API

   A service is required and also a pipeline to process data through custom API integration. For more information, see Data loading using custom API connector.

3. Load and validate meter data.
   1. Start by sending a small batch of data for testing.
   2. To validate the file delivery status in Envizi ESG Suite, click Admin > Data Flow Automation > File Delivery Status.
   3. After the meter data is validated, request ongoing data feeds through CSV files from an appropriate source:
      • BMS (Building Management System)
      • EMS (Energy Management System)
      • Meter Data Agents (MDA)
      • Edge data middleware platform, for example, IBM Maximo Monitor
