Configuring data loading into accounts

Set up accounts and configure data flow automation to enable data loading into accounts in IBM® Envizi ESG Suite.

About this task

If you plan to configure many accounts, contact an IBM Business Partner or Expert Labs for bulk setup.

Procedure

  1. Create the accounts in Envizi ESG Suite.
Accounts are based on an account style, which is similar to a template. The account style determines the data entry fields that are displayed on the Data Capture forms. For more information, see Setting up accounts and Account styles.
  2. Configure data flow automation by using one of the following options:
    Universal data loading templates
Configure a file loading data service, which is automatically connected to a system pipeline. For more information, see Data file loading.
    Create a data transformation
Engage IBM Expert Labs to configure a service to transform and load account data files that are formatted in a client or supplier-specific format. IBM Expert Labs must also configure a pipeline to process data through a custom connector. For more information, see Data file transformation and loading.
Data received through a custom API
Engage IBM Expert Labs to configure a service and also a pipeline to process data through a custom API integration. For more information, see Data loading using custom API connector.
  3. Load and validate account data:
    1. Start by sending a small batch of data for testing.
    2. To validate the file delivery status in Envizi ESG Suite, click Admin > Data Flow Automation > File Delivery Status.
  4. After the account data is validated, request ongoing data uploads by using one of the following templates:
    1. To upload data for accounts that use a single account style, use the Account Setup and Data Load template. For more information, see Uploading data for a single account style.
    2. To upload primary measures and cost data for multiple account styles, use the Account Setup and Data Load - PM&C template. For more information, see Uploading primary measure and cost data for varied account styles.
    3. To upload varied data multiple account styles by using a flat file, use the Flat File Format template. For more information, see Uploading varied data for varied account styles using a flat file.
