Summary page

The Summary page provides a summary of electricity, emissions and renewables for your organization.

Figure 1 displays an example of the Summary page.

The reporting period of the report shows all data by default, which may be up to 5 years. To change the reporting period, click Reporting Period.

Electricity

The Electricity (kWh) section shows overall electricity consumption across an organization, total renewables, and net electricity after certificates are removed. Click Certificate Allocation to see a summary of renewables and the distribution of certificates within the organization. Click Electricity Inventory to review monthly details of certificate allocation, renewable sources, and applied emission factors.

Emissions

The Emissions (t CO2e) section shows location-based and market-based emissions. Location-based emissions are calculated based on grid electricity consumption and other non-electricity sources using grid-average emission factors, while market-based emissions are calculated based on the residual kWh and the most precise market-based factor available, also including non-electricity sources. Click Scope 2 Inventory to view a summary of both location-based and market-based emissions for all scope 2 data types.

Consumption

The Consumption (kWh) section shows the total value of scope 2 measured in kWh, excluding electricity.

Renewables

The Renewables section shows the total renewables percentage for the selected period. This figure is derived by dividing total renewables by overall Scope 2 consumption, which includes non-electricity data types. To view the renewables percentage for electricity only, see Renewables page.

On the Summary page, click Emission factors to see a summary of all electricity emission factors that were used in the calculation of both location and market-based emissions.

Click Emissions inventory to open a detailed pivot table that shows a breakdown of all consumption, renewables, certificates, emission factors, and resulting emissions.
