Account style fields

In the IBM® Envizi ESG Suite account style wizard, you can edit, add, remove, and reorder fields for a new account style.

Prepopulated fields

For a new account style, the account style wizard automatically generates prepopulated fields for all the measures that are available for the selected data type. The measures are usually limited to a primary measure and a secondary total cost measure. Some data types, such as electricity, have more secondary measures.

Select a prepopulated field to review and update the field properties, reorder the field, or remove the field altogether.

Fields with an underlying measure

When you add a field, if it does not have an underlying measure, the field does not roll up in the monthly data. The field is available only for reporting by using reporting options that rely on raw record data.

When a field has an underlying measure, some options are restricted. For example, if the selected field is for the primary measure, you cannot change the database column for the field. Also, you cannot change the field type because it must always be numeric for the primary measure. The primary measure must always be present because it is the main field against which conversions are applied for emissions calculations and any other normalization metrics.

For fields with an underlying measure, the following information is also displayed:
Meter style
Can be either accumulative or instantaneous. Accumulative data sums over time, which is typical for consumption data, and instantaneous data is a point-in-time measurement that is typically associated with data such as floor space or head count.
Unit
The unit label that is applied to the field in monthly data.

Field properties

For each field in the account style, you can edit the following properties:
Column
Refers to the database column (C_1–C_40) to which the field is assigned. Changing the database column changes the behavior of the field, depending on whether the existing or new columns have a measure that is associated with the column. It is not advisable to change the database column of a field that already has a measure under it. You cannot assign a field to a column that is already being used by another field. Generally, if you add fields, use columns C_21 to C_40.
Field label
The label for the field on the data capture form that is written with the unit, if relevant, in parentheses. Field labels are limited to 100 characters.
Help text
Help text that is shown to the user as hover text when manually capturing data.
Field type
Field types are numeric, text, and drop-down list. The primary measure is always numeric.
Drop-down list
A list builder is displayed that consists of labels and their corresponding values. Labels are the text that a user sees that correspond to options in a drop-down list, while the value is the numeric value that is stored when the user selects an option. All account style field values are stored with four decimal places. Therefore, you must enter drop-down values with four decimal places, for example, 1.0000 and so on.
