Copying and applying formatting in presentations

You can copy formatting of text styles and list styles and then apply it in other places of the same presentation.

About this task

Text styles that you can copy from text boxes, shapes, and tables include font name, font size, font color, bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough. When you copy text styles from speaker notes, the formatting only includes bold, italic, and underline. List styles that you can copy include list type, number, level, and text alignment.

Note: This feature is available only in IBM Docs 2.0 CR3 iFix 006 and future releases.

Procedure

  1. Select the text or list from which you want to copy formatting. If you do not make any selections, the formatting of the whole paragraph where the current cursor is located will be copied.
  2. Click the Copy Formatting icon Copy Formatting icon. Your cursor changes to a paintbrush. If you want to apply formatting continuously, you can double-click the icon.
  3. Drag the paintbrush over the text or list that you want to apply the formatting to, and then release the mouse button.
    Note:
    • When you apply formatting, if you do not select any text, both text styles and list styles will be applied to the whole paragraph where you release the mouse button.
    • If you drag the paintbrush across paragraphs, both text styles and list styles will be applied. But if you only drag the paintbrush over the text within a paragraph, only text styles will be applied.
