General upgrade strategy
- First, upgrade the components on distributed systems, and then upgrade the Z Common Data
Provider on z/OS. Older versions of Z Common Data Provider can continue to send data to newer
versions of the distributed code, so upgrades can be staged around the distributed enterprise.
- Z Common Data Provider can run at different
levels on different z/OS systems so upgrades can be staged
across the z/OS enterprise.
- The Configuration Tool must match the level of Z Common Data Provider code that the created policy is used
on. To ensure that you can still work with older policy files, you should create a separate
installation of the Configuration Tool for each version of the Z Common Data Provider running in your environment.
