Storage Area Networks

The key component of IBM Storage Protect for Storage Area Networks (SAN) is the storage agent. The storage agent allows IBM Storage Protect clients to read and write data directly to and from SAN storage. SAN-connected servers and clients can make maximum use of their direct network connection to storage, by removing data transfer from the local area network (LAN).
