You can change the encryption of an existing cloud-container storage pool that the
IBM®
Storage Protect server uses to encrypt your
data.
About this task
Changing the encryption setting does not affect the data that is already stored in the
cloud-container storage pool. Changing the encryption setting only affects the new data that is
stored in the storage pool.
Procedure
To change the encryption setting of a cloud-container storage pool, complete the
following steps:
- Using the Operations Center
- On the Operations Center menu bar, click Storage > Storage
Pools.
- On the Storage Pool page, select a cloud-container storage pool
and click Details.
- On the Details page, click the Properties
tab.
The Cloud area shows the cloud-related properties of the storage pool.
- In the Cloud area, click the Unlock icon
to edit the cloud-related properties.
- From the Data encryption list, select Yes
or No.
- Click Save.
- Using the command-line administrative client
- Issue the UPDATE STGPOOL command with the
ENCRYPT=YES or ENCRYPT=NO parameter.
UPDATE STGPOOL poolname ENCRYPT=YES
