Return and function codes associated with the external subsystem support

With the function code, the user can determine the IMS module name. The (RC) indicates the problem encountered by the module. Corrective action can then be taken, or, if help is required, contact your IBM® support center.

The question marks (??) in categories A, D, and E are substitutions for unsupported return codes received by the listed module. The description indicates the functional area that returned the unsupported return code (that is, an external subsystem exit).

For categories A and E, the question marks (??) represent return codes received from the IMS internal functions (that is, IMODULE).
