IMS Transaction Manager enhancements

The IMS™ Version 13 Transaction Manager includes enhancements to the following functions: callout, Intersystem Communication (ISC), and Open Transaction Manager Access (OTMA).

Asynchronous callout enhancements for IBM MQ
In IMS Version 13, the destination descriptor for IMS asynchronous callout requests is expanded to include a new type: MQSERIES.
DL/I ICAL call and Java API enhancements for synchronous program switch
In IMS Version 13, the DL/I ICAL call can be used to send a request to another IMS application and receive the response in the same unit of work for the original application. The Java™ dependent region resource adapter includes a Java Message Service (JMS) interface that can be used by Java applications for the same functionality in Java dependent regions.
ISC TCP/IP enhancement
In IMS Version 13, the Intersystem Communication (ISC) function supports TCP/IP connections between IMS and IBM® CICS® Transaction Server for z/OS®. The TCP/IP support for ISC is provided in IMS by IMS Connect.
MSC link increase enhancement
In IMS Version 13, the maximum numbers of both logical and physical links that you can define is increased.
OTMA enhancements
IMS Version 13 introduces a variety of enhancements to OTMA.
