The Warehouse Administration Console has
three user roles that grant distinct privileges to different functions
in the Warehouse Administration Console.
The user roles are the Administrator, Operator, and Viewer.
Each user role has different
privileges based
on the component:
- SQL Warehousing
- Cubing Services
- Mining
- Configuration
The Administrator is a super user and can
do all the functions
that are available in each component. The privileges that are granted
to each user role are described in the following tables.
- Administrator
- A user who is assigned the Administrator
role is a super user
and can do any task in the Administration Console.
The Administrator role has the following privileges in addition to
the Operator privileges: add, edit, and delete any connection or system
resource, including connections and system resources that are private
and owned by other users.
- Operator
- A
user who is assigned the Operator role does operational tasks,
such as deploying applications and running control flows. The Operator
role has the following privileges in addition to the Viewer privileges:
add, edit, and delete any connection or system resource excluding
private connections that the operator does not own.
- Viewer
- A user who is assigned the Viewer role
can do system monitoring.
The Viewer can view most of the status information in the Administration
Console but does not have the privileges to change any
parameters or settings. A user who is assigned the Viewer role can
view any public connection or system resource, or a private connection
or system resource that the Viewer is granted access to by an Operator
