Administering Registry Services

During user management, you might need to apply Registry Services security roles to users. You might need to fall back to basic authentication, if you specified the client certificate authentication method during installation.

The installation sets the default configuration for Registry Services. You might need to modify these settings to troubleshoot or enhance performance.

If Registry Services and Administration Services are installed in the same Installation Manager software package group during installation, that is, the JazzSM_HOME directory, the Registry Services task bundle is also installed. This task bundle contains tasks to administer and implement best practices for Registry Services. You can run these administration tasks by using the Administration Services CLI or UI rather than using the Registry Services CLI, the WebSphere® administrative console, or the WebSphere wsadmin scripting tool.

Depending on the administration task, you might need to restart the Registry Services application or the Jazz™ for Service Management application server in which it is installed.

The tasks to administer Registry Services through WebSphere Application Server are as follows:
  • Start Registry Services application.
  • Stop Registry Services application.
  • Change the log and trace levels.
  • Change the data source settings.
  • Change the user role mappings.
  • Set the maximum number of HTTP sessions.
  • Set the maximum number of threads.
  • Configure memory settings.
  • Set the connection pool.
  • Activate authenticated access to resources.
  • Fall back to Basic authentication.
  • Configure Registry Services to support HADR mode.

For the complete list of tasks to administer Registry Services, see Using WebSphere Application Server administrative console and Using wsadmin scripting tool.

The Registry Services commands you can use to administer Registry Services through the CLI are as follows:
