Viewing the status of tasks in the UI

You can view the status of tasks that is deployed to Administration Services in the Administration Tasks view.

Procedure

  1. Open the Administration page.
  2. In the Applications view, select the managed system.

    Administration Services displays the tasks for the selected managed system in the Administration Tasks view.

  3. In the Administration Tasks view, you can view the status of each task. Hover over the name of the task to display more information about the task in a pop-up window; alternatively, you can select the task in the table, and Administration Services displays the task details in the Administration Task Details view.

What to do next

Depending on the status of the task, you can choose any of the following options:

OK

No action is required.

Unknown

Run one of the task actions that are associated with the task. While the task action is running, the status of the task changes to Running. After the task is completed, the status is changed to OK when successful, or Error when a failure.

Error

Check the details of the task and its task actions in the Administration Task Details view. Use the information in the Status tab of the Administration Task Details view to determine how to proceed and resolve the issue; for example, you might need to run one of the task actions that are associated with the task.

Warning

Inactive

Check the details of the task and its task actions in the Administration Task Details view. Use the information in the Status tab of the Administration Task Details view, to determine how to proceed and resolve the issue; for example, you might need to run one of the task actions that are associated with the task.

Running

No action is required. Check the status of the task again after the task action is completed.
