Installation checklist for Standard Edition

You can use the checklist for installing Instana Standard Edition in a self-hosted environment on a single-node, three-node, or five-node cluster.

Follow these steps sequentially to make sure of a successful deployment of Instana Standard Edition.

1. Review the system requirements:
   • For a single-node cluster: System requirements for a single-node deployment
   • For a three-node cluster: System requirements for a three-node deployment
   • For a five-node cluster: System requirements for a five-node deployment
2. Prepare your environments:
   • For a single-node cluster: Preparing for a single-node deployment
   • For a three-node cluster: Preparing for a three-node deployment

3. Verify storage requirements: Checking storage for Standard Edition
4. Add the Instana repository and install the stanctl tool: Adding Instana repository and installing the stanctl tool
5. Install Standard Edition using one of the following methods:
   • Online environment: Installing Standard Edition in an online environment
   • Airgap environment: Installing Standard Edition in an air-gapped environment
   • Mirrored repositories: Installing Standard Edition with mirrored repositories
6. Complete the following post-installation tasks:
   • Enable optional features: Enabling optional features for Standard Edition
