Viewing the usage of an envelope

The detailed view page for each envelope displays an encapsulated view of the resources that currently use the envelope. The usage of an envelope occurs when the envelope is enclosed by another envelope or when a map or control number references the envelope.

When you are updating or removing an envelope, you can view the usage of the envelope to ensure that you are not updating or removing an envelope that is currently used. Based on your requirements, you can change the usage by updating the envelope configuration and then update or remove the envelope.

To view the usage of an envelope, complete the following steps.

  1. Click Envelopes to view the Envelopes page.
  2. On the Envelopes page, click the name of the envelope for which you want to view the usage information.
  3. On the detailed view page for that envelope, the Usage section contains the number of resources that are using the envelope.
  4. Click the number to view detailed information about the envelopes that refer to the selected envelope.
