Viewing roles and permissions

You can view the roles and permissions that are available on the tenant.

Procedure

  1. View the roles.
    1. Select Applications > App role management.
      The roles are displayed with their role name, application name, and description.
    2. Optional: Filter the results.
      You can filter the results by application name.
    3. Select the role name to see its details.
      A pop-out window is displayed with the following information.
      • General setup
        • Role name
        • Description
        • Role type
        • Application name
      • Role composition

        Select View details to see the role structure, subroles, permissions, and the number of children in the role.

      • Role membership
        • Users
        • Groups
        • Users

          Select Manage membership to see the assigned users, their assignment type, who assigned them and last modification.

        • Groups

          Select View details to see the assigned groups, who assigned them, when they were created, and last modification.

    4. Select Manage membership to see the assigned users and groups or to add new users or groups to the role.
      • Users

        Select Manage membership to see the assigned users, their assignment type, who assigned them and last modification.

      • Groups

        Select View details to see the assigned groups, who assigned them, when they were created, and last modification.

    5. Select Manage membership to see the assigned users and groups or to add new users or groups to the role.
      • Users

        Select Manage membership to see the assigned users, their assignment type, who assigned them and last modification.

      • Groups

        Select View details to see the assigned groups, who assigned them, when they were created, and last modification.

  2. View the permissions.

    Whenever an application is on-boarded, the default permissions are fetched into IBM® Verify. For applications that support account sync, to see updated permissions on the target, an account sync operation must be run.

    1. Select the Permissions tab.
      The permissions are displayed with their permission name, description, application, and category.
    2. Optional: Filter the results.
      You can filter the results by category or application.
    3. Select the role name to see its details.
      A pop-out window is displayed with the following information.
      • General setup
        • Permission name
        • Description
        • Application name
      • Permission membership
        • Users
        • Groups
    4. Select Manage membership to see the assigned users and groups or to add new users or groups to the role.
      • Users

        Select Manage membership to see the assigned users, their assignment type, who assigned them and last modification.

      • Groups

        Select View details to see the assigned groups, who assigned them, when they were created, and last modification.
