IBM Streams 4.3.0
Connectivity
Use the solutions that are provided to resolve connectivity problems with the product.
- Processing element connectivity problems
When streaming data is not transmitted to or received by a processing element (PE), you can troubleshoot the problem by verifying the status of the PEs and resources. - Processing element problems when the maximum number of file descriptors or the maximum number of user processes is exceeded
When the number of processing elements (PEs) or the number of external connections for a PE exceeds the maximum number of open file descriptors or the maximum number of user processes, the PEs might fail to start or to connect correctly. - InfiniBand and connectivity problems
If you use the InfiniBand interface with IBM WebSphere® MQ Low Latency Messaging (LLM), you can encounter connectivity problems when the memlock limit is too low, or when LLM cannot load the dynamic library files for Reliable Unicast Messaging (RUM). If you use IBM Streams Version 2.0.0.4 or later, it is recommended that you install the OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED) package Version 1.5.3 or later.
