Options for managing log and trace data for IBM Streams

IBM® Streams provides options that enable administrators, instance owners, and application developers to manage log and trace data.

The following table lists the main logging and tracing tasks, and the IBM Streams interfaces that you can use to perform the tasks.

Include logging and tracing macros in applications Application developers can use the IBM Streams Processing Language (SPL) SPLAPPLOG and SPLAPPTRC macros to create entries in log and trace files.

Collect and view log and trace data Administrators, instance owners, and application developers can use the streamtool command-line interface, the Streams Console, or Streams Studio to collect and view log and trace data.
