Starting the Streams Console

To open the Streams Console in your default web browser, you can use the streamtool launch command or the Domain Manager. To open the Streams Console in another web browser, use the streamtool geturl command.

Before you begin

Verify that you meet the requirements for using the Streams Console.

Procedure

To open the Streams Console in your default web browser:
- Use the Domain Manager. Start the domain if it is not running, then click Open Streams Console.
- Use the streamtool launch command. For example:
```
  streamtool launch –d domain-id --console 
```
To open the Streams Console in a web browser other than your default browser:
1. Obtain the URL for the Streams Console from the list of information in the Domain Manager. Alternatively, use the streamtool geturl command For example:
```
  streamtool geturl –d domain-id --console
```
  The URL is similar to the following example:
```
https://host1.ibm.com:54344/streams/domain/console
```
2. Enter the URL in the web address field of your browser.

What to do next

If you are prompted, enter the user ID and password that you use to access Streams Console.

Tip: Certificate authentication enables users to access the Streams Console without having to enter a user ID and password. For more information, see Setting up client certificate authentication.
