IBM InfoSphere Streams Version 4.1.1
Monitoring SPL applications using the instance graph
The instance graph provides a graphical view of the applications that are running in an instance. You can monitor the health of your SPL applications by using the health indicators that are reported by the Instance Graph view.
- Opening the Instance Graph view
Open the Instance Graph view to view the topology of the SPL applications that are running in an instance. - Viewing the health of your job
The default coloring scheme for an instance graph is Health. This color scheme uses a color code to display the health of each operator in your job. - Retrieving log and trace data from the Instance Graph view
You can retrieve and view log and trace data in the Instance Graph view to monitor and diagnose problems with InfoSphere® Streams and Streams applications. - Applying color schemes
You can create and apply custom coloring schemes to the instance graph to easily identify or highlight characteristics of the graph. InfoSphere Streams Studio includes a defined set of color schemes. You can modify these color schemes to change the colors or the ranges. You can also create your own color schemes. - Finding elements in an instance graph
You can use the Quick Outline view to quickly search for elements in the instance graph. - Linking the Instance Graph view with other views
You can link the Instance Graph view with other views. - Recording sessions
You can create and play a video recording of a Streams Instance Graph view. The recording captures changes in the applications that are running on an instance. - Taking a snapshot of a running application in Streams Studio
You can take a snapshot of the Instance Graph view in Streams Studio. - Viewing a snapshot in Streams Studio
After you capture job topology information, you can load it into the Streams Studio Instance Graph view for offline viewing and analysis. - Viewing streaming data in the Instance Graph view
To view the data that flows through an SPL application, from the Instance Graph view, select an output port or a stream and configure the tuple attributes that you want to view. - Highlighting elements in an instance graph
The instance graph supports highlighting so that you can easily see related artifacts in the graph. - Layout options in an instance graph
Use the layout options to customize how you want to view the topology of the applications that are running on a Streams instance in the Instance Graph view.
