IBM InfoSphere Streams Version 4.1.1
Instance configuration and administration
Use the solutions that are provided to resolve the problems that can occur when you work with InfoSphere® Streams instances.
- Problem launching graphical user interface (GUI) applications
The Domain Manager, Streams Console, Streams Studio, Commodity Purchasing sample application, or any other InfoSphere Streams application that requires an X Window System cannot be launched. - Instance log files deleted by the system maintenance utilities
If the log files of the InfoSphere Streams instances are deleted, they are not available for troubleshooting purposes. You can change the directory in which the files are stored, or have the system administrator adjust the settings of the system maintenance utilities. - Domain services fail to start
If the web management service or the management API service fails to start and reports that its port is already in use, you must specify a different port number. - User authentication errors on SLES systems
If you are running InfoSphere Streams on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), InfoSphere Streams users might have authentication problems. - User authentication errors with the PAM login counter module
If you are using Pluggable Authentication Module (PAM) to authenticate users in InfoSphere Streams and you install the login counter (tallying) module, there might be authentication problems.
