Creating domains

Before you use InfoSphere® Streams, you must create at least one domain.

When you create a domain, you must install InfoSphere Streams. For more information, see Installing.

About this task

An InfoSphere Streams domain is a container for InfoSphere Streams instances which provides a single point for configuring and managing common resources, security, and instances.

Procedure

Determine whether you want to use a basic domain or an enterprise domain. For more information, see Domains.
Create the domain by using one of the following methods:
- Create an InfoSphere Streams basic domain on a single host.
- Setting up an InfoSphere Streams enterprise domain on multiple hosts.
Start the domain. Use the Domain Manager or the streamtool startdomain command.

You can add more resources to the domain, or start creating instances.
