Service roles

Learn about service roles in IBM® MQ as a Service.

IBM MQ as a Service has three user roles:

  • Service administrators can provision and de-provision queue managers, upgrade queue managers, and add and remove users and application credentials.
  • IBM MQ administrators can manage the configuration of queue managers by using the IBM MQ Console, runmqsc, or REST.
  • IBM MQ applications can connect to a queue manager by using an IBM MQ client connection to send and receive messages.

These roles are named and managed differently depending on the cloud provider.
