Should the content be pre-categorized?

Sample content that is used to create a knowledge base must be pre-categorized. Sample content that is used to analyze a decision plan does not need to be categorized.

Your content set might already be organized into categories prior to import. For example, if your content consists of email messages, you might have a collection of emails in folders, where each folder represents a category or type of inquiry. When you import this data, you can maintain and refine your initial categorization by using various Classification Workbench features and techniques.

If your data is partially categorized, or not categorized at all, you can categorize it after you import it into Classification Workbench. For more information, see Categorization and cleanup techniques.
