Running the rootpre.sh script (AIX only)

To run the rootpre.sh script.

Procedure

  1. Log in as root or as a superuser.
  2. Set the DISPLAY environment variable.
  3. Change to the directory <ORA_DIST_DIR>/database.
    Note: The Oracle server (64-bit) distribution is downloaded to <ORA_DIST_DIR> as per the instructions in the section Download the Oracle distribution to disk.
  4. Run the following command: 
     ./rootpre.sh

    rootpre.sh may return an error like the following:

    Configuring Asynchronous I/O....
  Asynchronous I/O is not installed on this system.

    This error can safely be ignored.
