Dynamic cluster member collection

Use this page to view, start, and stop dynamic cluster members.

To view this administrative console page, click Servers > Clusters > Dynamic clusters > dynamic_cluster_name > Dynamic cluster members

You must have operator privileges to view, start, and stop dynamic cluster members.

To start or stop a member, select the member and click Start or Stop.

If you chose to manually define your dynamic cluster members, you can add or remove cluster members. Click Add or Remove.

Member name

Specifies the name of the dynamic cluster member.

This name is automatically provided to a dynamic cluster member by the system. The system uses the following nomenclature: <dynamic_cluster_name>_<node_name>.

Node

Specifies the node on which the dynamic cluster member is running. When you create a dynamic cluster, a dynamic cluster member is automatically created on a node that fits within the membership policy that you created.

Version

Specifies the version of the WebSphere® Application Server or WebSphere Extended Deployment product on which the cluster member runs.

[9.0.5.28 or later] [Modernized Runtime Extension for Java (MoRE)] Specifies the Liberty version of the managed Liberty server cluster member.

Configured weight

Specifies the weight that is currently configured for the cluster member. The weight determines the amount of work that is directed to the application server. If the weight value for the server is greater than the weight values assigned to other servers in the cluster, the server receives a larger share of the cluster workload.

To change the configured weight for a cluster member, specify a new weight and click Update, or click the name of the cluster member.

Important: If enabled, the dynamic workload manager (DWLM) overrides any values that you enter. DWLM is enabled by default. To disable DWLM, click Servers > Clusters > Dynamic clusters > dynamic_cluster_name > Dynamic workload management (DWLM)

Runtime weight

Specifies the proportionate workload that is currently directed to the cluster member in comparison to the configured weight for that cluster member.

[9.0.5.28 or later] [Modernized Runtime Extension for Java (MoRE)] This setting is not available for managed Liberty servers.

To change the proportion, specify a new weight and click Update.

Status

Specifies the current status of the cluster member. To determine the meaning of the status graphic, hold your mouse over the graphic.

Icon	Status	Description
	Started	Server is running.
	Partial Start	Server is in the process of changing from a Stopped state to a Started state. Server is starting to run but is not fully running yet.
	Stopped	Server is not running.
	Partial Stop	Server is in the process of changing from a Started state to a Stopped state.
	Unavailable	Status cannot be determined.
	Not applicable	Server does not provide information as to whether it is running.
