Statistics reports

You can use cicssfmt to generate two different types of statistics report. One is an interval report, which is detailed, and the other is a summary report.

Both reports use all the statistics collections that are contained in the file. Therefore, depending on when you generate reports and when you last cleared the file, you can produce reports that cover an hour, a week, or any other period of time that you want. It is recommended that you limit the summary period to a year or less, because summary data can become very large.

  • The Interval report contains the detailed statistics for each individual resource and the summary statistics for each resource category. For example, it contains information about CSMT in the Transient Data statistics, information about CECI in the Transaction statistics, and information about resource categories such as Transient Data and Intersystem Communication. The interval report displays all the statistics collections that are contained in the statistics file. These statistics collections are the interval, end-of-day, requested, and unsolicited collections.
  • The Summary report contains only the summary statistics for each report category, for example Transient Data and Intersystem Communication, taken from all the collections that are contained in the statistics file. These statistics collections are the interval, end-of-day, requested, and unsolicited collections.

The summary report facility also produces reports that average the resource category summary statistics and give the totals, peaks, and averages. These reports are generated only for end-of-day and interval collections.
