IP multicast
IP multicast mode defines SLM multicast peering to transmit and receive peering update
messages. SLM multicast peering in not available when the platform is
docker.
Procedure
- In the search field, enter multicast.
- From the search results, click IP Multicast.
- Click Add.
- Define the basic properties - Name, administrative state, and comments.
- In the Multicast Group field, enter the multicast IP group address.
- In the Local Interface field, enter the local IP address, host name, or host alias of the Ethernet interface or VLAN interface to transmit and receive multicast packets.
- In the Port field, enter the IP port to transmit and receive multicast packets.
- Optional: From the Shared Secret Key list, select the shared secret key to sign and verify packets. If the key is not specified, the packets are not signed and verified. All peers in the peer group must be configured with an identical key.
- Click the Advanced tab to define advanced settings.
- In the Maximum Transmit Data Size field, enter the maximum size of a transmitted data block within a multicast packet. The sum of the maximum transmit data size and the IP header must not exceed the MTU of the network.
- In the NAK Retransmission Time field, enter the length of time to wait before an NAK packet is initially transmitted or is retransmitted.
- In the NAK Retries field, enter the number of times that an NAK packet is retransmitted.
- In the Buffer Resend Time field, enter the number of seconds that a transmitted multicast packet remains buffered.
- Click Apply to save changes to the running configuration.
- Click Save to save changes to the persisted configuration.
