Create a work order on the map or in the list. If the associated tenant is integrated
with Maximo® Asset Management, the work order is also created in the EAM
system.
About this task
You can create a work order from the More Actions
menu on the taskbar. You can also create a work order from a selected service order, and the new
work order is automatically linked to the service order. Procedure
- Create a work order from the taskbar on the map
- Select the work order type in the Filter window.
- Click More Actions and select New Item.
- In the New Item window, select a work order type from the list. The work order types that are available for selection are those work order types that are
selected in the Filter window.
- Drag the marker for the geometry type to the required location on the map. The Add New Item window is displayed.
- Complete the details for the new work order and click Save.
- Create a work order from the taskbar in the list
- Select the work order type in the Filter window.
- Select the work order type in the View data source field.
- Click More Actions and select New Item from the
list.
- In the New Item window, complete the details for the new work order and
click Save.
- Create a work order from a service order
- Click a service order on the map or in the list to display the preview card.
- Click in the preview card.
- Select a work order type in the Select Work Order Type window.
- In the New Item window, complete the details for the new work order and
click Save.

The ID of the tenant to associate with the work order. |
| EAM ID |
The EAM ID for the work order. The value for the EAM ID must be unique within the specified
site ID. |
| GIS ID |
A geographic information system ID for the work order. |
| Site ID |
Enter the site ID. If the tenant is associated with an EAM system, enter the
ID for the site that is defined in the EAM system. If the tenant is not associated with an EAM
system, enter a value of your choice. |
| Domain |
The name of the domain used to group work orders of this type. |
| Network Type |
The type of network for the work order. |
| Status |
The status of the work order. |
| Completion Status |
A value that indicates the completion status for the work order. |
| Target Start Date, Target End
Date, Actual Start Date, Actual End
Date. |
Enter values for the actual start and end dates. These values are mapped to
the target start and end dates. |
| Location Type |
The Location Type field is displayed
if your administrator configured a geocoding provider. For more information about configuring a
geocoding provider, see the related link. Select Coordinates or
Street Address depending on the format you want to use for the value in the
Location field.

Depending on the value in the Location Type field, you
can enter geographical coordinates or an address in the Location field. If
you create the work order on the map, the Location field is populated with
geographical coordinates by default. |
Results
If the tenant is integrated with your EAM system, the work order is also
created in the EAM system. Click on the work order's preview card to view the work order in the EAM system.
