Hardware and software reference architecture
To meet the specification requirements for IBM® Netezza® Replication Services, you can apply the reference architecture that is described in this documentation and your own physical hardware and virtual machines.
Replication environments can deploy a replication log server (physical, virtual, or both) to host the PTS (replication) software. This section about the reference architecture includes possible configurations for use in a replicated Netezza environment.
Any replication log server physical components must be installed together in a rack that is separate from the Netezza system. The additional hardware cannot be installed into unused space of a Netezza rack.
