IBM eDiscovery Manager, 2.2+     Supports:  Content Manager

Scenario: Migrating both Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino collection information

When migrating from IBM® eMail Search to IBM eDiscovery Manager, if you have multiple email archives of different types (Microsoft Exchange and Lotus® Domino®), migrate the Lotus Domino collection information first.

To complete this type of migration:

  1. Install eDiscovery Manager and select Lotus Notes® as the type of content that is stored in your archive.
  2. Migrate from IBM eMail Search to eDiscovery Manager with an eMail Search web application configuration file (ems-config.xml) that identifies one or more IBM CommonStore for Lotus Domino email collections.
  3. Remove IBM eMail Search for CommonStore for Lotus Domino and install IBM eMail Search for IBM CommonStore for Exchange Server.
Alternatively, point to an IBM eMail Search for CommonStore for Exchange Server installation. To do this, enable the migration utility to read the IBM eMail Search web application configuration file (ems-config.xml) by either:
    • Mapping the Windows drive or mounting the AIX® file system of the IBM eMail Search web application.
    • Copying the IBM eMail Search web application configuration file to a temporary migration directory on the eDiscovery Manager system and specifying that directory when you run the migration utility in the next step.
      For AIX, specify:
      temporary_migration_directory/eMailSearchEAR.ear/eMailSearch.war/WEB-INF/
      For Windows, specify:
      temporary_migration_directory\eMailSearchEAR.ear\eMailSearch.war\WEB-INF
Important: You must also copy the emslevel.txt and emsversion.txt files to the temporary_migration_directory directory.
  4. Migrate from IBM eMail Search to eDiscovery Manager with an eMail Search web application configuration file (ems-config.xml) that identifies one or more CommonStore for Exchange Server email collections.
This scenario ensures that eDiscovery Manager has collection information about the Mailbox ID and Notes® Universal ID (UNID) in search_config.xml. These search fields are specific to Lotus Domino.
