Enrolling your Apple TV

Enroll your Apple TV in the Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP).

Before you begin

  • The iOS DEP token for the Apple TV must be active in the IBM® MaaS360® Portal.
  • The DEP enrollment types that are supported for Apple TV are Userless, MaaS360 Directory (MaaS360 Local Auth), and AD (or Corporate On-premise) Enrollments.

Procedure

  1. Turn on the Apple TV device and go through the initial activation screens to the Select your wifi Network screen.
  2. Select your wifi network and enter the wifi password to activate your Apple TV.
  3. On the Remote Management screen, read about remote management and click Continue. Your Apple TV is configured by the MaaS360 MDM Profile.

What to do next

  • Follow these steps to verify that tvOS device enrollment was successfully completed.
    1. From the IBM MaaS360 Portal home page, select Devices > Enrollments.

      The Enrollments (Add Device Requests) window is displayed.

    2. On the Enrollments (Add Device Requests) window, review the following information.
      Column Description
      Status The status of the enrollment request for the device.
      New
      The enrollment request was sent to the device.
      Failed
      An error prevented the enrollment request from completing.
      Completed
      The device is enrolled successfully.
      Pending
      The enrollment request was sent successfully, but the device owner still needs to complete the enrollment.
  • (Optional) You can assign a user to the Apple TV device if you have performed a Userless enrollment. For more information, see iOS device actions.
  • View the Apple TV device details on the MaaS360 Portal. For more information, see Device details view.
    Note: The device details that are only specific to Apple TV are displayed.
