Activate a new device by using the IBM®
MaaS360® Advanced Windows agent. It outlines the process from accessing the
portal, completing activation details, to downloading and running the IBM
MaaS360 advanced windows agent for a successful device
activation.

Follow the steps to activate a new device by using IBM
MaaS360 Advanced Windows Agent.
Procedure
- From the IBM
MaaS360 Portal home page, select
.
- On the Enrollments (Add Device Requests) window, click
Add Device.
- On the Add Device window, select the Basic
tab, and enter the required details in the fields provided.
Notes:
- The Mixed Mode service must be enabled for onboarding devices with
Advanced Windows agent. Contact customer support to enable
the Mixed Mode service.
- In the Device Addition Mode, you must clear the Enroll with
MDM checkbox.

- Click Send Request to send an activation details to the specified
email of the user.
- Open the activation URL on any browser and select the Windows edition based on the device OS.
- Click Download to get the latest Advanced Windows Agent.
- Install the MDM_Extender_Agent_X86_<VERSION>.msi file. When
prompted, enter the activation URL to activate the device, and click
Continue.
- Enter the passcode or corporate credentials, and click
Continue.
- Accept the MaaS360 Terms and Conditions, the
organizational End-User License Agreement (EULA) and click
Finish to complete the process.
Note: Self enrollment is not supported for Activating Windows devices with IBM
MaaS360 Advanced Windows Agent.
Results
The activation process is completed, and the device is successfully activated in the
IBM
MaaS360 Portal.
