Windows Out of Box Experience (OOBE) enrollment

The Windows Out of Box Experience (OOBE) enable administrators to automatically enroll Windows devices such as (Windows desktops, tablets, phones) into MaaS360® when a user registers with Microsoft Entra Active Directory.

How Windows OOBE works

  • Specifies the Microsoft Entra Active Directory tenants in the IBM® MaaS360 Portal for an organization.
  • Sets up Microsoft Entra Active Directory to use IBM MaaS360 as the Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) tool.
  • Allows users to join the Microsoft Entra Active Directory or connect to an Microsoft Entra account from a Windows desktop.

All users who join an Microsoft Entra Active Directory domain or connect to an Microsoft Entra Active Directory account are automatically redirected to complete enrollment with MaaS360. For more information, see Setting up Windows Enrollment in the IBM MaaS360 Portal and Microsoft Entra.

Note: Administrators do not need to create a separate enrollment request in MaaS360.
