Time Machine
Use the Time Machine settings to define the location and other options for Time Machine backups on macOS devices.
The following table describes the Time Machine settings:
| Policy setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Backup Server | The URL of the Time Machine backup destination. Example: afp://server.example.com/backups |
| Backup all Volumes | All mounted volumes are backed up by Time Machine. |
| Backup System Files and Folders | The system files and folders are backed up by Time Machine. The default setting is off. |
| Automatic Backups | Backups are handled automatically by Time Machine. |
| Enable Local Snapshots | A local backup snapshot is created on the device if the device is not connected to the network. |
| Backup Size Limit (in MB) | The backup limit (in MB) that is allowed for each client. |
| Paths to Skip | The comma-separated paths that are excluded from the backup. |
