Configuring quarantine templates

Use quarantine templates to create separate sets of restrictions that are tailored to different risk levels, such as high-risk or low-risk devices or users. Quarantine templates in IBM® MaaS360® are predefined sets of granular restrictions that can be applied to devices or users depending on their risk severity. These templates help you to easily configure and enforce specific quarantine restrictions to mitigate security risks and prevent unauthorized access to corporate resources.

About this task

IBM MaaS360 provides three templates, with all restrictions disabled by default. When initially applied, the quarantine actions do not apply any restrictions on the affected devices or users. You can edit and modify these templates based on your requirements.

After configuration, select your templates when you apply the quarantine action to the affected users and devices.
Important: Modifying or clearing the template does not change the restrictions that are already applied to the affected devices and users.

Understanding the Custom option

When applying the quarantine action, you can select the Custom option to define a unique set of quarantine restrictions directly without selecting the preconfigured templates. This option is useful when you have specific and immediate requirements that are not covered in your existing templates. While quarantine templates can be easily modified and reused for various risk levels, the Custom option is intended for one-time use only. Once the custom restrictions are applied, they cannot be updated or saved as a new template for future use.

Follow these steps to configure quarantine templates in IBM MaaS360.
