Joining a gateway to an existing High Availability (HA) cluster
Add a gateway to an existing High Availability (HA) cluster.
Before you begin
Use the encrypted identity certificate that was generated by the gateway for cluster
configuration before you can join new gateways to a High Availability (HA) cluster. If you cannot
locate this certificate, follow the steps to download the certificate again from your first gateway.
- At the final step within the Finish tab in the Enterprise Gateway section of the Cloud Extender® Configuration Tool, click Save Gateway Certificate.
- Select High Availability - Join an existing Gateway cluster within the Enterprise Gateway section and then browse for your Gateway Certificate that is downloaded from the Primary Cloud Extender.
- Browse to the location of the gateway certificate. All settings are automatically downloaded to the new gateway node.
Procedure
- If you change the configuration on one of the nodes after the gateways in HA mode are setup, you must update the gateway configuration on the other nodes when you open the Cloud Extender Configuration Tool.
- Open the Cloud Extender Configuration Tool on all the gateways in the cluster and select Update Configuration to sync the configuration settings for all gateways in the cluster.
