Integrating with a Google Workspace account

Follow the steps to set up Android Enterprise integration with IBM® MaaS360® by using a Google Workspace (previously called as G-Suite for business) account.

Before you begin

Before integrating your Google Workspace account with Android Enterprise, the following prerequisites must be met.
  • Google Workspace Account
    You must have a valid Google Workspace account. You can create a Google Workspace account by registering through the Google Workspace website at https://workspace.google.com/.
  • EMM Token
    Generate an Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) token within your Google Admin console.
Generating an EMM token
Follow these steps for generating an EMM token in your Google Admin account.
  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console (admin.google.com).
  2. In the Google Admin console, click Devices in the left navigation window and go to Mobile & endpoints > Settings > Third-party integrations.
  3. On the Third-party integrations section, click Android EMM > Add EMM Provider.
  4. On the Manage EMM provider page, click Generate Token.
    Note: You must use this token to bind your IBM MaaS360 account with the Google Workspace account.

Procedure

  1. From the IBM MaaS360 Portal home page, go to Setup > Services.
  2. On the Services page, expand the Mobile Device Management section and select Enable Android Enterprise.
  3. Select a Google Workspace account.
  4. Enter the domain name and then paste the EMM token that you generated in the Google Admin console.
  5. Click Connect.
    Your IBM MaaS360 account is connected with your Google Workspace account.
    • In the IBM MaaS360 Portal, the status is displayed with a Connected sign and a green check-mark in the Services page.
    • In your Google Admin console, the newly added third-party EMM provider information is updated.

What to do next

You must turn off Android Sync and iOS Sync in the Google Admin console from the following path to allow IBM MaaS360 to manage your work data.
