Prerequisites for localization
There are some prerequisites that you must know before you localize.

There are some rules that govern localization that are external to Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation. - International standards organization codes
Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation uses locale-related codes as specified by the International Standards Organization (ISO). - Character encoding
Before you can localize, you must have your operating system set to a specific default character encoding. - Localizing literals displayed in external applications
You can localize literals for external applications, whether they are used in conjunction with Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation, or if the literals are not used in conjunction. - Microsoft Windows clients
When localizing the Applications Manager to run on Windows, ensure that client computers have regional options set appropriately in the Windows Control panel. - Mobile device clients
When localizing Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation to run on a mobile device, localize the literals associated with specific property file keys.
