Installing the Enterprise Edition
This topic describes the installation options that are available for the Enterprise
Edition, and provides instructions for installing on any machine that is running a supported
operating system.
After completing the previously described planning tasks and installing prerequisites such as database and application tier software, the installation process going forward consists of the tasks that are described in brief here. Each task is covered in more detail in subsequent sections.
Note: If you are planning for a sharded database deployment, ensure to determine and record the
database information for the following shards:
- Metadata
- Statistics
- Configuration
- Master
- Transaction
