Starting replication
You can start replication for all tables in a replication set or for individual tables in the set.
About this task
When you start a set, replication starts from the last stopped point in reading the Db2 recovery logs. You can stop and resume replication for a set at any time without affecting the state of individual tables in the set. The one exception is the very first set activation, where you can add each table with the option to start replication automatically.
Starting a set means that the replication process is started or resumed. Each table within a set has its own status. Specifically, the set might be active, which means that the replication process is reading the Db2 log records, but all tables in this set could be inactive, which means that although the set is active, nothing is replicated for this set.
You need the set to be active before you can start or stop replication for individual tables in the set.
Procedure
- Replication sets
- From the replication home page, select the row for an inactive set and click Start.
- Tables
- You can start replication for an individual table in a replication set if the set is active:
- Open the details page for the set by clicking the set's row on the replication home page.
- Select the row for the table in the area at the bottom of the screen and click Start.
