Control plane

This topic provides an overview of the Control Plane architecture and its role in managing cloud services.

The Control Plane is the central environment where all customer interactions for Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) take place.

When a customer accesses the service through the Azure Marketplace, they are redirected to the IBM SaaS Console, which operates within the Control Plane. From there, customers can deploy and manage their service instances.

The Control Plane runs within an IBM-managed Azure subscription, ensuring a secure and consistent environment for managing deployments.

In addition to customer access, IBM Operations uses the Control Plane to oversee and manage the associated Data Planes. This centralized management approach helps ensure operational consistency and service reliability.

IBM is responsible for the security posture of the Control Plane, including infrastructure hardening, access controls, and compliance with industry standards.
