Updating your Db2 Warehouse SaaS instance password in VCAP_SERVICES

After updating your Db2 Warehouse SaaS service instance password from within the web console, you must also update the password in the VCAP_SERVICES environment variable of any of your IBM Cloud® applications if the service instance is bound to the application.

Procedure

To update the password in the VCAP_SERVICES environment variable of any of your IBM Cloud applications that are bound to your service instance, unbind and then bind the service instance to the application.

To update your service instance password in the Service credentials on the IBM Cloud dashboard, complete the following steps:

  1. From your apps and services dashboard in IBM Cloud, select your service instance.
  2. In the left navigation pane on the service launch page, select Service credentials.
  3. To update the password portion of your credentials, create a new, updated credential by clicking the New credential button.
  4. Click Add.
    This action pulls in your new password from the web console and updates the VCAP_SERVICES environment variable that you can view at any time.
  5. Optional: Delete the previous credential.
