Now that you understand the terms and components available in IBM® BigFix® Remote Control, you can identify which components you need to install:

* In a managed environment, the controller user starts remote
control sessions from the IBM BigFix Remote Control server
interface. Starting sessions this way does not require the controller
component to be installed separately. The IBM BigFix Remote Control server
interface starts a Java Web Start controller console, in context.
** A gateway is not strictly required in a broker deployment but it does increase security.
