Disable IBM Aspera Connect
If and only if your organization supports IBM Aspera HTTP Gateway, you can disable IBM Aspera Connect transfer client and the default prompt to install Aspera Connect.
The Aspera on Cloud administrator may deploy the Aspera HTTP Gateway as an alternative transfer method when some users cannot download and install desktop software like Aspera Connect.
If your organization does not support Aspera HTTP Gateway, you must download and install Aspera Connect to upload from or download to your desktop.
You can transfer among remote sources without either transfer method. For example, go to the Files app, right-click a files or folder to select Move or Copy, then select the destination.
To disable the Aspera Connect transfer client and the default installation prompt, do the following:
- Click your user image in the upper right to display the menu, then select Account settings.
- Set the toggle labeled Disable IBM Aspera Connect to On. If you don't see this setting, your organization does not support Aspera HTTP Gateway; you must use Aspera Connect to transfer to and from your desktop.
- Click Save.
