Delegate to a workspace manager
If desired, you can grant workspace manager privileges to one or more members in a workspace. A workspace manager can take over certain management tasks in that workspace.
For example:
- Adding and removing workspace members.
- Creating and managing groups.
- Granting and revoking workspace manager privileges to other users in the same workspace.
- Manage email notification templates and delivery options.
- Manage the settings of the Files app in the workspace.
- Manage the settings of the Packages app in the workspace, including shared inboxes.
The workspace manager role is optional, since organization administrators can manage every aspect of all workspaces. The workspace manager must be a member of the workspace.
Access keys
You can generate an access key and secret to a folder on a transfer node that you have shared to a workspace ("administratively shared folder"). You can give this key pair to a workspace manager to allow them to manage content in this shared folder without giving the manager access to other content on the node.
Privacy in a multi-tenant organization
In a multi-tenant organization, when strict privacy between workspaces is required, you can ensure that workspace managers cannot see organization members beyond those in the groups they are enabled to manage. Otherwise, workspace managers can see the users and groups across the entire organization during operations like adding a member to a shared inbox, to a group, or to a workspace. Control this privacy setting at Organization > Advanced settings > Workspace manager privileges. The setting you configure here applies to all workspace managers in the entire organization.
For more information, see Assign the workspace manager role.
