Set your default download location

You can set or change the location for the folders, files, or packages you download using the IBM Aspera Connect transfer client in Aspera on Cloud. Once set, you can override this location for a specific transfer by selecting Download to.... instead of Download.

If you don't set this location, either through your Account preferences or by directly configuring Aspera Connect, the items you download end up in your Downloads folder or to the location set for your browser.

  1. Click your user image in the upper right to display the menu, then select Account settings.
  2. Go to Download location for Aspera Connect transfers > Change download location.
  3. When Aspera Connect opens, click Transfers in the Preferences dialog.
  4. In the Downloads location field, enter or browse to your intended location.
  5. If you want to set an intended location for each download, click "Always ask me where to save downloaded files."
  6. Click Save.

To close Account settings, click < at the top of the page.
